Mr. Malav Ashwin Dani (Keynote Speaker)
Malav holds a B.S. (Bachelor of Science) degree from Purdue University and an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Columbia University. His formal education was rounded off with a six-year leadership role at General Electric (GE), during which he completed the Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP), as well as the Quality Six Sigma Black Belt Program. He worked with GE’s Corporate Treasury Department, and the project he helmed won the Alexander Hamilton Corporate Treasury Award.
Malav is a Non-Executive Director at Asian Paints Limited (www.asianpaints.com) and serves as the Chairman of its CSR committee. He has also been the Managing Director of Hitech Corporation Limited (www.hitechgroup.com) since 2011 and has pioneered its growth, expansion, and shaping of the company’s trajectory. He is also currently the President of Hitech Global Inc. in the USA, incorporated in 2024, which is a subsidiary of Hitech Corporation Limited.
Malav has been the Chairman of the Indian American International Chamber of Commerce (IAICC) International Board since October 2021. His vision is to promote economic development by fostering bilateral trade and investment globally, thus further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries and with the rest of the world.
Recognized globally for his leadership, Malav has been recently appointed as a Board Member of the Jackson School of Global Affairs, Yale University, in 2024. This role allows him to influence the education of future leaders and engage with global issues.
Malav, an avid yoga practitioner, is a firm believer that success and true happiness can only be built on a solid spiritual foundation. With a deep desire to contribute to society, he has set up the Sab ka Mangal Ho (Wellness for All) Foundation. The foundation looks at implementing holistic solutions at grassroots levels to generate social transformation.
Some of the initiatives undertaken include teaching yoga in orphanages, promoting life skill value education in partnership with Ramakrishna Mission, Partnering with INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage) to clean the rivers of Pune to bring them back to their original natural state, Environmental conservation through Tree Plantations, Food donation in Orphanages to eradicate hunger and malnutrition among marginalized children, Free Eye Camps and Imparting Vedic and Spiritual knowledge through the spiritual center in Mumbai. Malav Dani believes that this is ‘Our Way of Giving Back to The Society’ by enriching thousands of lives in marginalized sectors of Indian society.
Malav is also the founder of an innovative start-up online platform called Yoga.in. The objective of this platform is to make yoga accessible to everyone. He believes that yoga can help individuals overcome a wide range of modern-day challenges by promoting physical and mental health, which in turn can lead to greater harmony and unity in the world.
He is also a member of the technical committee in the Bureau of Indian Standards-AYUSH, India. AYUSH is an initiative by the Government of India aimed at promoting traditional systems of healthcare like Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy in India.
In September 2023, Malav was also inducted into the Council of Management of the Forum of Free Enterprise. The Forum of Free Enterprise is a non-political and non-partisan organization established to educate public opinion in India about its close relationship with the democratic way of life, serving a social purpose.
Malav was awarded a certificate of special congressional recognition by Mr. Joe Wilson, a member of the Congress of United States House of Representatives, in March 2023 for his contributions to US-India trade and relations, as well as his service to humanity.
Malav is also on the Advisory Board of India’s International Movement to United Nations (I.I.M.U.N.) since 2019. I.I.M.U.N. is the world’s largest youth-run organization that seeks to bring the world closer together in the Indian way. It empowers young people to tackle global and local issues on an individual basis. I.I.M.U.N has impacted more than 50 million lives in over 220 cities across 35 countries.
Malav was also associated with the Indian Merchants Chamber as a Chairman of the Young Leaders Forum Committee of the Indian Merchants Chamber from 2009 to 2013. During this tenure, Malav was felicitated by the Hon. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi in 2010. From 2015 to 2018, he was also appointed as the Chairman of the Ease of Doing Business Committee of the Indian Merchants Chamber, where he had an opportunity to present the Roadmap for India to improve its Ease of Doing Business ranking to the Joint Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce of the Rajya Sabha.
A strong proponent of universal oneness, Malav made a presentation on ‘Give Peace a Chance’ for World Peace to the American Council of Young Political Leaders, an initiative of the Trump administration.
In line with his core beliefs, he also delivered a presentation on Compassionate Capitalism at the Ernst & Young CXO Roundtable event in Silicon Valley, U.S.A., in 2016. He put forward a new form of capitalism that holds the potential for improving corporate performance while simultaneously advancing the quality of life of society at large.
He has been the recipient of many awards, such as the Yuva Icon Award presented by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, the Business Excellence and Innovative Best Practices Award from Dr. Pranab Mukherjee, the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award 2015, the Corporate Excellency Award 2018 from Enterprise Asia, and the Asia One Young Asian Entrepreneur Award 2019-20 for his efficacious contribution to society and the world at large.
