The Indian American International Chamber of Commerce (IAICC, formerly: USIACC/NIACC) is an umbrella organization that provides a sustainable platform and leadership forum for entrepreneurs, professionals, businesses and governments in the United States, and India to interact, exchange and promote economic development and improve relationship between U.S., India, and rest of the world.
Since its launch in Washington DC, in1990, IAICC has been serving Indian American owned and operated businesses. IAICC, through its chapters, affiliates and other organizations provides vital resources and support to educate, train and mentor its membership. It acts as a catalyst to establish strategic alliances between businesses in the United States, India and the rest of the world to strengthen US-India relations, business and economic engagement.

IAICC Highlights
I. Notable Accomplishments of IAICC on U.S. India Relations:
IAICC strongly advocates for small and medium-sized businesses in the United States, India, and the rest of the world. Through its partnerships and advocacy programs, IAICC supports stronger trade policies and relationships between the U.S., India, and other countries.
- IAICC through its advocacy programs, has strongly supported numerous initiatives by the U.S. and Indian Government agencies:
- IAICC assisted the “U.S. India Defense Pact,” initiated under the Clinton administration, and continued its expansion under Presidents Bush, Obama, and Trump administrations.
- IAICC assisted in the removal of U.S. sanctions against India.
- IAICC assisted in the passing of the “U.S. India Nuclear Treaty.”
- IAICC assisted in the approval process of “Strategic Trade Authorization (STA1)” between the U.S. and India which puts India on par with NATO countries to trade between the U.S. and India which was announced by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in July 2018.
- IAICC assisted in passing the “U.S. Trade Pact with Canada and Mexico,” from day one to approval by the U.S. Congress.
- IAICC assisted in “U.S. India Trade and Commercial Agreements.”
- IAICC strongly supported the “Opportunity Zone,” an initiative through which over Five Trillion Dollars will be invested over the next 20 years.
- IAICC strongly supported the “U.S. India Motorcycles for Mangoes,” program.
- IAICC assisted the U.S. Small Business Administration to enter an MoU with the Government of India’s Ministry on Small & Medium Enterprises in 2007 with the help of AMCHAM New Delhi Chapter.
- Also, in concert with other national and international organizations, IAICC has made valuable contributions that benefit both the U.S. and India and is still pursuing India’s permanent membership at the U.N. Security Council. The IAICC together with local and national Jewish organizations supported Israel-India diplomatic relations.

- April 7, 2022: IAICC and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a MoU to advance India-US Trade relations in New Delhi.
- March/April 2022:IAICC Executive Chairman & CEO, KV Kumar met with the MD & CEO of the Bombay Stock Exchange, and Chairman of the IAICC Corporate Advisory Board, Ashishkumar Chauhan, Chairman of the IAICC International Division, Malav Dani, Founding Chairman of Asian Paints, Ashwin Dani, Yoga Practitioner and Painter, Ina Dani, and Chairman of the World Trade Center, Vijay Kalantri in Mumbai; Chairman of External Affairs Committee P.P.Chaudhary, and IAICC Executive Board Director and India Chairman, Anil Agarwal in New Delhi; Executive Chairman & CEO of Biocon, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Executive BoardMember & the IAICC South India Chairman, Chirag Purushotham, and Managing Director &CEO of the Tata Medical & Diagnostics, Ltd, Girish Krishnamurthy, also the Chairman of the IAICC Karnataka State Chapter, in Bengaluru.
- On April 6th, Kumar also participated in a panel discussion in Doordarshan, National News Channel of India, in New Delhi, where he discussed opportunities and issues relating to Small and Medium Enterprises.
- In Singapore, Kumar met with the newly appointed Executive Director of the IAICC Singapore Chapter, Anandi Iyer, and discussed plans to inaugurate the Chapter soon. As part of the mission, Kumar met with Rajeev Srivastav, head of an Investment Company, and Ashok Bajpai, in charge of mergers & acquisitions, at HH Healthcare. Both have agreed to serve on the Board of the IAICC Singapore Chapter.
- January/February 2022: IAICC Executive Chairman & CEO, KV Kumar visited Guatemala at the invitation of Indian Ambassador Manoj Mohapatra to participate in India’s Republic Day celebrations. Kumar also met with U.S. Ambassador William W. Popp, several cabinet members of Guatemala, and business leaders and discussed U.S., India, and Guatemala trade relations.
- January 14, 2022: IAICC Executive Chairman & CEO, KV Kumar received the 2022 Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Award for Community Service at the MLK Advisory Council in Atlanta, GA, in the presence of Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia.
- January 5, 2022:IAICC Executive Chairman & CEO, KV Kumar received the Albert Nelson Marquis’s “2021 Lifetime Achievement Award.”
- December 11, 2021: IAICC Executive Chairman & CEO, KV Kumar was a guest speaker at the Consulate General of India in Atlanta, Georgia to celebrate Hanukkah with Consul General Dr. Swati Kulkarni, Congresswoman Nikemma Williams, Consul General of Israel, Anat Sultan Dadon and other dignitaries.
- November 12, 2021:IAICC India Chairman, Anil Agarwal, and IAICC President & CEO, KV Kumar met with Mr. Nagesh Singh, Chief Protocol Officer, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India to brief about IAICC’s activities.
- November 11, 2021:IAICC President & CEO, KV Kumar was interviewed by Doordarshan India’s senior anchor Mark Patrick Lynn on India – US relations. The interview was aired throughout India during prime time on November 17, 2021, and was telecasted again on November 23rd morning. Here’s the link to the interview.
- November 11, 2021: IAICC India Chairman, Anil Agarwal, and IAICC President & CEO, KV Kumar met with the Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, and discussed aspects of the development of transportation and highways sectors in the US and India.
- November 11, 2021: IAICC India Chairman, Anil Agarwal, and IAICC President & CEO, KV Kumar met with the Chairman of, the External Affairs Committee in the House, Hon. Shri. P.P. Chaudhry discussed strategies to enhance US-India relations in addition to working with other countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
- November 10, 2021: IAICC India Chairman, Anil Agarwal, and IAICC President & CEO, KV Kumar met with the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Hon. Shri. Om Birla and discussed US-India relations.
- November 10, 2021: IAICC President & CEO, KV Kumar met with Ms. Aileen Nandi, Minister/Counselor for Commercial Affairs, and Mr. Thomas Carnegie, Minister/Counselor, Economics, Trade & Information Technology Policy from U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and discussed US India trade and strategic relationships. They agreed to work together to enhance the relationship between the two countries.
- November 2, 2021: IAICC President & CEO, Mr. KV Kumar toured the Biocon facility in Bangalore, India, and described it as one of the best-maintained state-of-the-art facilities he had ever seen.
- October 29, 2021: IAICC President & CEO, Mr. KV Kumar, and IAICC Executive Board Member, Mr. Chirag Purushotham met with Dr. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Executive Chair of Biocon at her office in Bangalore, India. The delegation briefed Dr. Mazumdar-Shaw about IAICC and its activities. Ms. Mazumdar-Shaw appreciated IAICC’s work and discussed her plans for the US marketplace identifying areas where Biocon and its subsidiaries are working to make inroads in critical areas such as oncology. She also identified areas where IAICC may be able to help play a productive role.
- October 28, 2021: IAICC President & CEO, Mr. KV Kumar, and IAICC Executive Board Member, Mr. Chirag Purushotham called on the Governor of Karnataka, Hon. Tawarchand Gehlot at the Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru, India to brief on IAICC’s activities. The Governor appreciated IAICC’s good work, pledged his support, and wished success for the Chamber’s future activities.
- October 26, 2021: The All India Association of Industries (AIAI) and The World Trade Center(WTC) of Mumbai invited IAICC President & CEO, Mr. KV Kumar to address the partner organizations. During the event, IAICC signed MoUs with WTC, Mumbai, and AIAI. Mr. Malav Dani, Chairman of IAICC Mumbai Chapter, and Ms. Sangeeta Jain, Senior Director of AIAI signed MoUs on behalf of their respective organizations.
- October 22, 2021: IAICC Western Regional Headquarters was launched at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on October 22, 2021 in Mumbai, India. Mr. Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO of BSE & Chairman, of IAICC Corporate Advisory Board inaugurated the headquarters and delivered the keynote speech at the launch. Mr. K V Kumar, IAICC President & CEO, Mr.Chirag Purushotham, IAICC Executive Board Member & Chairman, IAICC South India Chapter, Mr. Harold Brayman from the U.S Consulate, Mumbai, Mr. Saurabh Shah – President of IACC, and Mr. Malav Dani, Chairman of the IAICC Western Regional Headquarters, were also present during the launch.
- June 24, 2021: The IAICC delegation met with the Indian Ambassador to the United States, Hon. Taranjit Sandhu at the Embassy of India in Washington DC. The delegation headed by IAICC President & CEO KV Kumar discussed strategies with Ambassador Sandhu on ways to collaborate on matters important to the Embassy, and the Government of India. - June 4, 2021: IAICC hosted a webinar with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) for small business owners to learn about the pandemic’s impact on their taxes. John Kirk, Special Agent in Charge (TIGTA), Fraud and Schemes Division (IRS), was the Chief Guest, and Kristen Deazeley, Public Affairs Specialist, Tax Outreach, Partnership and Education office (IRS), was the Special Guest for the webinar.
- May 21, 2021: IAICC established a special committee to coordinate with various organizations and initiatives, as well as with government and non-governmental entities, to help India overcome the devastating phase two of the COVID-19 crisis. Here’s the link: News India Times.
- April 29, 2021: IAICC set up a White House petition page to send surplus vaccines to India. Here’s the link to the form.
- April 14-16, 2021: A delegation of IAICC Executive Board Members, and the Consul General of India in Atlanta, Dr. Swati Kulkarni, met the Governor of Mississippi, Tate Reeves in Mississippi, and offered to assist in the economic development of Mississippi. The delegation also met Mayor Dan Gibson of the City of Natchez, who presented the Key to Natchez City to KV Kumar, and Dr. Kulkarni. Mayor Gibson also hosted lunch and dinner in honor of the delegation. The delegation also met U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, Mayor of the City of Brookhaven, John Ernst, and the local Chamber of Commerce hosted a brunch for the delegation. KV Kumar appreciated the support and invited Governor Reeves, Mayor Gibson, Mayor Ernst, and business leaders to join the IAICC delegation to India (when circumstances permit) and also invited them to join IAICC 30th Anniversary celebrations in May/June 2022. - March 24, 2021: IAICC South Carolina Chapter was inaugurated by Governor Henry McMaster at the Governor’s Mansion in Columbia, South Carolina. Governor McMaster signed the proclamation declaring March 24, 2021, as the “IAICC-South Carolina Chapter Day.” South Carolina Secretary of Commerce, Robert Hitt III, and IAICC Board Members signed an MoU on the occasion. After the inauguration, Governor McMaster hosted a reception for the IAICC delegation at the Governor’s Mansion where members of the Governor’s Cabinet, the Consul General of India in Atlanta, the Chair of The Latino Coalition, the President of The Latino Coalition, and other local business leaders attended the event. - March 22, 2021: The Consul General of India in Atlanta, Dr. Swati Kulkarni hosted a dinner in honor of IAICC Executive Board Members.
- January 14, 2021:IAICC hosted “A Conversation with The Honorable Francis Spampinato, Associate Administrator for The Office of Government Contracting and Business Development, SBA.” Ashish Kumar Chauhan, Chairman, IAICC International Corporate Advisory Board; Managing Director & CEO, Bombay Stock Exchange was the Special Guest of Honor. - January 7, 2021: IAICC hosted “A Conversation with The Honorable Allen Gutierrez Associate Administrator for The Office of Entrepreneurial Development, SBA.” Swapna Das, New Country Head (USA), Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) was the Special Guest. IAICC’s KV Kumar, Narasimhulu Neelagaru, Annapurna Bhat, Keth Ditthavong, and Chirag Purushotham participated in the event.
- December 17, 2020: IAICC in partnership with Amity University had an NRI Symposium on “’ Global Indians Toward World’s Growth Story.” Panelists from IAICC included KV Kumar, Narasimhulu Neelagaru, Samir Mitragotri, and Gurdeep Chawla. The Symposium was moderated by Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor of Amity University.
- December 11, 2020: IAICC worked with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) on the “FICCI Annual Expo 2020,” which began on December 11. The expo which will last for a period of one year will focus on manufacturing and services sectors. Click here to view more.
- November 27, 2020: KV Kumar spoke about “Partner’s Speech and Investors’ Perspectives,” and Kinesh Doshi, a Member, of the Executive Board, spoke on the “Business Leaders’ Forum – Tech for Good,” section at the 11th Edition of Business IT Conclave. - September 10, 2020:The Consulate General of India, Atlanta, and the IAICC, SE Atlanta Regional Chapter jointly organized a Webinar on “Doing Business with India.” Consul General of India in Atlanta, Hon. Swati Kulkarni, Kinesh Doshi, Kamal Dutta, Ratnagiri Polavarapu, and Mr. Kumar Allady spoke at the event. Chairman of the SE Regional Chapter, Narashimulu Neelagaru moderated the event.
- August 15, 2020: KV Kumar took part, as the Special Guest, in the 74th Independence Day Celebrations at the Consulate General of India in Atlanta, on August 15. - January 9, 2020: IAICC in association with US Representative, Joe Wilson, Founding Member of the India Caucus, hosted a farewell breakfast for Ambassador Hon. Harsh V. - November 6, 2019: IAICC launched its New York Regional Chapter at the Consulate General of India in New York. Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Ajit Pai, Chief Guest at the event, inaugurated the Chapter with Minister (Commerce), Manoj Mohapatra, Indian Embassy, and Deputy Consul General of India, NY, Shatrughna Sinha.
- September 21-22, 2019: IAICC Co-hosted the “Howdy Modi” Event in Houston and led a 12-member delegation. Members from national and regional chapters attended both the Indian PM and US President’s rally, and the VIP luncheon. Here’s the youtube link.
- January 2019: IAICC launched its Mississippi State Chapter where the State of Mississippi honored the Consul General of India in Atlanta, Hon. Swati Kulkarni, and KV Kumar as special guests.
