BLACK LIVES MATTER & ALL LIVES MATTER

Indian American International Chamber of Commerce (IAICC) Executive Board, Regional, State and International Boards, Officers, Advisors and Members, support Black Americans and people of all ethnicity and color in solidarity and mourn the tragic death of Mr. George Floyd in Minneapolis, MN. We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Mr. George Floyd in Minneapolis and extend our most sincere condolences to his family. We stand in solidarity with everyone feeling the grief, pain, anger, and frustration caused by this tragedy.

IAICC opposes the tragic murder of Mr. Floyd, a heinous act which should not be tolerated by anybody and especially when such acts are committed by the very people who are supposed to protect the rights of persons like Mr. Floyd. IAICC opposes all forms of racism. Any kind of racism must come to an end. Our aim is to end racism, discrimination and bring the country together peacefully.

Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela didn’t accomplish their objectives with violence. Brother of Mr. George Floyd spoke the right words. This should bring our country together and not divide us. Peaceful means will achieve better outcome than violence.

We are Americans and we all have the responsibility to create change, and we stand side by side with those who seek to create a world where we ALL belong.

We must join hands to help decision makers, business leaders and all Americans to stop racism and promote reforms to meet the current unprecedented challenges we are facing today. IAICC respectfully requests the state of Minnesota to bring the responsible people to justice. We have to make sure it won’t be repeated elsewhere ever again. Let us pursue peaceful methods and discourage looting and destroying public and private properties especially at this time when the country’s small businesses are suffering. This is harmful for which we all will have to bear the cost of replacement and rebuilding, not to mention the spread effects of fear and anger.

Let us all come together in keeping this great country of ours safe, free and just for all.
